History & Challenges

The point of reference for the current debates about European democracy is the post-war history of Europe, especially the political transformation in the last 25 years and the cost of demolishing former European divisions from the point of view of individual states and their citizens. In the biographies of outstanding personalities and in the fates of different social groups we try to find inspiration for thinking about the challenges for democracies in the coming decades.
