Migration and the world

Migration is a reality for us all, regardless of where we live. There are many reasons and factors: from the political situation and armed conflicts in various regions of the world, through natural disasters and other extreme phenomena caused by climate change, to complex socio-economic processes and changing cultural patterns caused by globalization. Although the number of refugees and migrants arriving in Europe has recently dropped significantly, our continent certainly remains one of the most attractive destinations for global migration. And probably this is anyway rather going to be only a temporary situation, because the forecasts taking into account all the above-mentioned causes of migratory movements strongly indicate the decreasing attractiveness of the places of origin of migrants traveling towards Europe; this underlines the need for further actions and regulations on the way to a common and coherent EU policy in this area. Europe needs new and coherent solutions on this issue, which reconcile its fundamental values with the interests of individual societies, but also the awareness that the intra-European migration desired by many is the other side of the same coin. It is worth looking at it carefully, without excessive fear and in the greatest possible contact with the diversity that it co-creates.

Exilium - exhibition, workshops and performance

Exilium is our in-house project, which we implement in cooperation with experienced trainers as well as male and female theatre actors. It contains a wide range of various free educational activities on the topic of migration, conducted by experienced trainers. It is addressed primarily to schoolchildren, but also to university students and teaching staff. We are open to cooperation with schools, but also universities, community centers and libraries. Our trainers have been hosted in large cities such as Warsaw, Katowice, Krakow, Gdańsk and Łódź, but also in smaller ones like Bytom, Rybnik, Bielsko-Biała, Wodzisław Śląski, Tychy, Dąbrowa Górnicza, Chorzów, Zabrze, Tarnowskie Góry or Gliwice. Within 2 years they conducted 56 workshops during which they trained about 1,400 people. Senior high schools, junior high schools, vocational schools, primary schools and schools with an artistic, sport or social profile have equally trusted us. In addition to schools, we have also cooperated with the University of Silesia or the Pedagogical Provincial Library in Łódź.

Training / educating

For years, we have also been cooperating with other Polish NGOs to reach not only young people, but also other key social and professional groups such as police and officials with the latest knowledge on migration and integration. Below we present selected activities in this field.

Discussing

We regularly organize and participate in conferences and seminars that can become forums for cross-sectoral and international discussion on important issues related to migration and integration, e.g. in the area of migration law, economic processes and climate change. Above all, we want the voice of Polish NGOs and local governments to be heard clearly abroad.
