Ιannis Konstantinidis is an Associate Professor at the Department of International and European Studies of the University of Macedonia, specializing in Political Behavior and Political Research Methodology. He has studied Applied Informatics, Quantitative Methods and Political Science in Greece and the UK.
He is the author of the book "Choosing: public opinion and political parties in Greece and the world, 2015-2017", has been the editor of two edited volumes and of four translations of academic texts in his field in Greek. He has also authored more than 30 articles or book chapters in international or Greek academic journals and publications. Recently, he published his first collection of short stories on the occasion of the election analysis, entitled "I have just decided". He has coordinated a three-year European Union co-funded inter-institutional scientific project on the measurement of political and social radicalism in Greece. He is a founding member of the Network for the Study of Elections, Public Opinion and Parties of the Hellenic Political Science Association.
Since 2012 he has been professionally active in the field of polling, first as Director of the Public Opinion Research Unit of the University of Macedonia and then, after the January 2015 elections and until the end of 2018, as Scientific Director of Prorata. During the 2019 election period, he took on the position of communications advisor to the head of Potami, Stavros Theodorakis. Since 2015, he regularly writes articles for newspapers and news sites, and since 2022 he has been working as a political analyst at the Alpha TV station.
