She graduated from the Department of Women’s and Gender Studies at Rutgers University, and obtained her PhD in October 2009. Over the last 7 years dr. Grabowska has also been involved in two collaborative, international research projects: "Constructing Supranational Political Spaces: The European Union, Eastern Enlargement and Women’s Agency in Poland and the Czech Republic" and "Forced Migrants Living in Post-Conflict Situations: Social Networks and Livelihood Strategies". Together with Małgorzata Fuszara, Joanna Regulska, and Joanna Mizielińska she wrote the book "Cooperation or Conflict? State, The European Union and Women" published in Spring 2009. She has collaborated with various women’s organizations and groups in Poland, including Sisterhood Street, Federation on Women and Family Planning, and Feminoteka Foundation.
