Kamila Fiałkowska holds a PhD in social sciences and works at the Centre of Migration Research, University of Warsaw. Since 2016, her research has focussed on the migration of Polish Roma to the UK and Germany, among other topics. Her research interests revolve around critical studies of race, gender relations, and the construction of national and ethnic identities in migratory settings. Academically, she is also engaged in the activities of the Researchers at the Border network that documents and analyses the humanitarian crisis on the Polish-Belarussian border.Od 2016 r. zajmuje się m.in. tematyką migracji polskich Romów do Wielkiej Brytanii i Niemiec. Interesują ją tematy związane z krytycznymi studiami nad rasą problematyką genderową i konstruowaniem narodowych i etnicznych tożsamości w kontekście migracyjnym. Zaangażowana naukowo w działania sieci Badaczki i Badacze na Granicy, dokumentującą i analizującą sytuację kryzysu humanitarnego na granicy polsko-białoruskiej.
